Short for a Learning Environment for the adVancement of Educational LessonS, L.E.V.E.L.S. offers young students in the North Valley area opportunities to complete their assignments, strengthen their skills in the Core fundamentals (Math, Reading, Writing), and brighten their exposure to a variety of disciplines through a creative process that aims to peak interest, build confidence, and embrace curiosity.
Hours: After-School - 6:00 pm
After a short snack, students tackle their assignments in a safe and friendly environment. Beyond completion however, our objective is for students to understand how and why a given solution was reached.
Homework Enrichment
We believe questions create opportunities for solutions, which is why our instructor(s) encourage students to ask as many questions as possible, whether to the instructor(s) or their peers, thus allowing their peers to learn as they teach.
ADVANCED LESSONS
If time allows for it after homework, students are offered an opportunity to engage in tasks and projects in varying educational disciplines.
Students are given the freedom to choose their own tasks and projects based on their own interests, thereby encouraging self-motivation.
Tasks and projects are organized by type and discipline. Some will feature group
work, while others will emphasize
individual
responsibility.
All advanced lessons are designed to build upon the fundamentals students learn. In addition to traditional subjects (Math, Science, Language), more modern disciplines will also be covered.
Our INCENTIVE system is designed to reward collaboration, communication, and progress.
Parents will receive weekly LEVEL reports describing their child's improvements, current challenges, and accomplishments, as well as links to any and all completed tasks and projects.
LEVELS offers an enriched and relaxed setting filled with educational games, individual and group work stations, and several computers for necessary assignments. School-pick-up services are also available!
OUR INSTRUCTOR
Erik Hakopian holds a B.A. in Political Science and has almost four years experience working with children ages 3 and up.
He is a strong proponent of education and in using modern technologies to enhance creativity, strengthen reasoning skills, and develop a solid foundation for future learning.
